Rhema in Due Season (RiDs) - Thursday 21st February 2013

ABOUT CHOICES AND SEEKING RIGHT - Part 1

Life is about choices! The choices we make amongst several alternatives. Man from time immemorial has been making choices. From the garden of Eden where the very Firstlady decided to listen to the talking serpent up till Armageddon, choices will continue to be an integral aspect of human existence.

Furthermore, where you are today is a product of the choices you make yesterday and your tomorrow will be a reflection of today's choices. The outcomes of the choices we make are often three;

1. Reformation;
2. Conformation
3. Deformation

Joel 3;14 reflects the frustration of mankind when it comes to choice making. Hear the prophet "Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. Maybe there is a decision that you are expected to make but you have remained in the valley of procrastination and indecision - the prophet is alerting you today - the Day of the Lord is near in the Valley of Decision. And once the LORD appears, it will be too late to make further choices. The parable of the virgins in Matt 25: 1 - 13 is a case in reference.

Gen 13: 10, 11 - And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt as you go toward Zoar. Then Lot choose for 'himself' all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east.

I will like to point your attention to three (3) rhema from the above trusting that the Parakletos, the spirit of truth and revelation will reinforce it to you.

1. Though the plain of Jordan was green and well watered, it wasn't the choice of God for Lot. Not all that glitters is gold. The grass is often greener on the other side because you are watching from afar. When you move closer, you will see patches here and there. Also, every green garden do not just happened, someone somewhere invested time and energy into making it green.

2. Lot compared the plain of Jordan to the lush green land of Zoar and Egypt. More often than not, when it comes to decision making - we are always benchmarking with what was known or seen before. Thus, a lady looking for a life partner is looking for a guy like her Dad or former lover, etc. It would have made a bigger difference if the choices we make are based on future expectations. YES! Future expectation because you see the POTENTIALS and have the foresights to key in now for greater glory and honour.

3. Lot thought his choice was for himself; how wrong? His choices and subsequently choices by his two daughter resulted in Lot fathering his daughter's children. The choices we make: our actions or inactions today will not only impact us but also generations after US. We are today remembering Abraham because he CHOOSED to take a risk on God's word. When it comes to choice making, we need to TRUST in Him that was yesterday, is NOW and Knows the end of all things. Remember, Isa 46: 10 says our God declares the END from the beginning.

I'm sure if Lot had the premonition of the future consequences of his decision, he wouldn't have chosen the plain of Jordan.

Here underscores the importance of seeking right and seeking the Lord.

Beloved, are you about making a decision; you don't know how to go about it and/or you are under pressure to choose; I counsel you to wait. I suggest you consider placing your options prayerfully before Him who knows the way and knows all things.

Prov 3; 5 - 6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding (or wisdom); in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct (make smooth or straight) your paths.

I see God constantly pointing you in the direction to GO. However, the choice is yours! Selah....think deeply upon this.

We continue tomorrow.

Shalom and Blessings!!!
