Understanding And Activating Faith

RCCG Mercyland Parish June 2018 Anointing Service Sunday, June 24, 2018 Theme: Understanding & Activating Faith Ministering: Pastor Ajibola Opeoluwa-Calebs Song: Great are you Lord, greatly to be Praised, Father you reign Great is God & greatly to be praised Text: Hebrews 11:1-6 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. 4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. 5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Introduction: The subject of spiritual and biblical faith is so important to receiving from the Lord. John 3: 27 There is a strong spiritual dimension to faith, sadly, many believers are unable to comprehend it, and thereby activate it. Faith is the currency of exchange for all spiritual transactions with God just as we use the earthly currencies for various financial dealings on earth. The objective of this message is to understand how to activate our spiritual and biblical faith that will enable us to convert our spiritual blessings and cause them to manifest for all to see. Psalm 68: 19, Ephesians 1:3 – “blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms (places) in Christ. What is faith? God’s Word Translation: Faith assures (guarantee, convince, promise) us of things we expect and convinces us of the existence of things we cannot see International Children’s Bible: Faith means being sure of the things we hope for. And faith means knowing that something is real even if we do not see it. NIV - Now faith is confidence (sureness, coolness, self-reliance) in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. AMP – Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. Faith is knowing that you have now, what you have been praying for. Faith is agreeing with God that what he promised you is available now. Faith is knowing that God cannot lie and He is able to give you what is currently not seen Faith is in the Now; Hope is in the future – evidence of things hoped for. Faith is not believing that it will happen in some days; Faith is I agree with God that it is available Now! James 1:5-8 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering (indecisive, undecided, falter, wobble, hesitate). For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. Faith is agreeing with God and NOT entertaining IF NOT. Faith is agreeing with God’s promise and shutting out all doubts and unbeliefs Types of faith Human faith – the natural human faith – chair, bus, airplane etc Biblical Faith – laying hold of the unseen realm of hope & bringing into the realm of reality For examples: Speaking in tongues is by faith. Every born-again child of God has been endowed with the ability to speak in tongues but not all are speaking in tongues because they are unable to activate their faith to speak Mark 16:17 – And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues… Acts 2:4 – All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues as the Spirit enabled them Study John 11:17-27; 38-40 is a typical story of how we struggle with faith for the miraculous. – Martha & Jesus about Lazarus How to stir up your faith? Woman with the issue of Blood – Luke 8: 43 – 48 vs46 (someone touched me) The Centurion story – Matthew 8: 5-13 – Vs 8 (just speak/say the word… Peter walked on water – Matthew 14:22 – 33 vs28 (Lord, if it’s you, tell me to come) What must we do to activate faith? We must have the word of God to build our faith on – faith comes by hearing Romans 10:17. With God all things are possible Luke 1:37, Matthew 19:26 Eliminate doubt, agree completely with God; if the subject of faith involves more than one person, it is important that both party are in agreement – Genesis 17 & 18. Know God to do exploit by faith – Daniel 11:32 Act, speak, confess and maintain your faith in God even in the midst of the storm. You need the Holy Spirit indwelling. James 1:5-6 Separation from the world (not segregation) 2 Cor 6: 14 – 17 (mind your fellowship) Healing is the children portion (bread) – Matthew 15:22-29 You must be a child of God Ask and receive in Jesus Name You must trust God like a child

MEMORY VERSE: "And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth” - 1Samuel 3:10

BIBLE PASSAGE: 1 Samuel 3:1-10
1 Samuel:3.1
Then the boy Samuel ministered to the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was rare in those days; [there was] no widespread revelation.
1 Samuel:3.2
And it came to pass at that time, while Eli [was] lying down in his place, and when his eyes had begun to grow so dim that he could not see,
1 Samuel:3.3
and before the lamp of God went out in the tabernacle of the LORD where the ark of God [was,] and while Samuel was lying down,
1 Samuel:3.4
that the LORD called Samuel. And he answered, "Here I am!"
1 Samuel:3.5
So he ran to Eli and said, "Here I am, for you called me." And he said, "I did not call; lie down again." And he went and lay down.
1 Samuel:3.6
Then the LORD called yet again, "Samuel!" So Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, "Here I am, for you called me." He answered, "I did not call, my son; lie down again."
1 Samuel:3.7
(Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, nor was the word of the LORD yet revealed to him.)
1 Samuel:3.8
And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. Then he arose and went to Eli, and said, "Here I am, for you did call me." Then Eli perceived that the LORD had called the boy.
1 Samuel:3.9
Therefore Eli said to Samuel, "Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He calls you, that you must say, 'Speak, LORD, for Your servant hears.' " So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
1 Samuel:3.10
Now the LORD came and stood and called as at other times, "Samuel! Samuel!" And Samuel answered, "Speak, for Your servant hears."

INTRODUCTION:
You cannot hear, if there is no call from somewhere or someone. Also, you can only answer to a call that you hear. A call can come from any quarter. However, being able to recognise the voice of the one calling is very crucial for every child of God. May God give us hearing ears, seeing eyes and listening heart in Jesus’ name (Proverbs 20:12; Matthew 11:15).

LESSON OUTLINES
1. How does God speak?
2. Results of hearing from God

HOW DOES GOD SPEAK?
God has spoken in various ways to His people from ages past. Some of the ways are: loud voice (Exodus 3:4), inner witness (Matthew 16:17; Acts 27:9-11), small/still voice (1Kings 19:12; Job 4:16), dreams and visions (1Kings 3:5; Matthew 1:20), God’s anointed servants (2Kings 20:1,5), His word-the Holy Scriptures (2Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 10:7).
Discerning between God’s voice and other voices (devil, flesh, etc.) is very crucial (1Corinthians 2:11; 1John 4:1). A believer must grow steadily into maturity to be able to recognise and adhere to the voice of God (2Peter 3:18; Hebrews 5:14). Obedience to God’s voice in little matters enhances the ability of a believer to hear more from God. Ultimately, the voice you hear must be substantiated in the scriptures for confirmation (Acts 17:11).

RESULTS OF HEARING FROM GOD

1. Divine guidance/direction (Isaiah 30:21; 1kings 17:2-4, 8-9; 18:1).
2. Prompt answers to prayers (1Kings 18:36-38; Acts 9:10-12, 17-18).
3. Peace and divine assurance (Acts 27:22-24; Psalm 85:
4. Better relationship with God (Exodus 33:11; Isaiah 6:
5. Boldness to exercise spiritual authority (Exodus 3:18, 5:1; Acts 16:16-18).

CONCLUSION
God in still in the business of speaking to His children (Psalm 62:11). We need to learn how to hear from Him and obey His voice (John 10:4-5,27).

QUESTIONS:
1. How does God speak?
2. Mention four results of hearing from God.

Those born in the month of June, let me hear you shout hallelujah!
The theme for the Next Month Holy Ghost Service is Stronger Than Your Enemies part 7; Sub theme, Permanent All Round Victory. We will be fasting for 21 days in the month of July. It will be 21 days of power.
The direct line of the Almighty God is shouting "Hallelujah.

The Seraphim’s are special angels created for making music. Isaiah 6:3. There was never a time God shut up the Seraphim’s. Revelation 5:11-14: There are innumerable Angels assigned to praising God
God loves Praises and is never tired of being praised: even sacrificially. It is not how much you give God that matters, it is how you give it. If you learn to worship God, you certainly going to be victorious.
As much as God loves praises so well, He detests it coming from a sinner; it is an abomination and a repulse to Him. Proverbs 15:8

Praises from a sinner makes Him feel uncomfortable. Psalms 7:11, God is daily angry with the sinner, God hates hypocrisy, Praise coming from a sinner is mockery to God! Do you want to praise God and want Him to accept your praise? Then give your life to Jesus now! Speak to the Lord to save you. Tell Him to wash you clean by His blood. Tell Him to accept you
As regards the Fasting in the month of July, the prayer points are:
  1. Victory for Nigeria “The Nation where you are”
  2. Victory for the Church of God;
  3. Victory for your families and
  4. Victory for yourself as an individual
If you have nothing at all to praise God for, praise God for
  1. Children
  2. Children teachers
  3. Good parents
  4. The RCCG
Whenever you want to praise God, do it as a child. Demonstrate with glee as a child. Stand up on your feet and rejoice before your Father.
Praise draws God as an Iron drawn to magnet. John 4:23. When you praise God, God the Father draws near. He first stands up,
Psalm 68:1-3, His enemies will flee as a result of this or will melt.

For few minutes, I want you to eulogize God. Call him by his name and praise him
What Happens When God Draws Near?
Mark 10:46-52. In a multitude, God heard the significant eulogy of a blind beggar.
No matter the crowd, the ear of God is tuned to hearing praises first. John 9:5, John 1:4-5. Darkness will have to let you go when God draws near.
It does not matter what your situation looks now, you won't have to beg again.
Jesus loves children. Children know how to praise God perfectly. If we have any problem, it is because we feel we are too old to praise God like children. Matthew 21:15-16
Prophecy: My Daddy says "Storms come, storms go. Your present storm will soon pass away." "Your singing will be louder than others
When God draws near, your enemies will turn to your messengers.
If you are not praising God and you try to rebuke those doing it as a child, He rebukes you seriously.
When you praise God as a child, He carries you and yours. He can however carry only children. There is no prayer greater than "God bless you." God bless you in Jesus' name.
When God blesses you, all the hosts of heaven will support. I say to you 'god bless you Genesis 27:38

For the next 10-15 minutes, let us praise God jointly like we have never done before. In Jesus' name have we praised.
Prayer: Father, please scatter every enemy of your children, enemies of their fathers' house, place of work and even the house of God.
Prayer: Father, that they may know that it pays to praise you, please give them new testimonies tonight in Jesus' name
Prayer: Father, please give them blessings that will frighten their enemies in Jesus' name
Thank You Lord for victory tonight. It is time to give your thanksgiving to God. Remember that it is not basically about what you give but how you give it.
Before the sun rises, you will sing for joy in Jesus' name. The Almighty will put a new dance to your feet in Jesus' name. The cause of your sorrow is gone in Jesus' name.
Soon, your enemies will bow to you in Jesus' name. Your victory over poverty will be permanent in Jesus' name.
You'll win more souls like never before in Jesus' name.
Father, please accept the thanksgiving of your children in Jesus' name.
Who got the biggest miracle? Let me hear you SHOUT hallelujah!!!
Shalom!!
