Lesson 9

Topic: Intentional Disciple – Making
Memory Verse: “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” – 2 Timothy 2:2

Bible Passage: 2 Timothy 3:10-15

10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Introduction: Discipleship process requires a teacher – student relationship. Hence, there is no discipleship where the convert is not taken through a definite process of intentional learning. The goal of discipleship is to produce an individual who has come to the realization of living on daily basis with Christ and experiencing consistent growth through the transforming work of the Holy Spirit.

OUTLINES:
1. REASONS FOR INTENTIONAL DISCIPLESHIP.
2. HOW TO DISCIPLE OTHERS

REASONS FOR INTENTIONAL DISCIPLESHIP:

Intentional discipleship is a command by our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20).It is also ensure the continuity of the gospel and to enable believers do greater works in the ministry (Act 2:42;John 14:12). Another goal is to produce ourselves in others (2 king 2:15). In addition, it should be aimed at eradicating the sacred/secular dichotomy in the society. In other words, the living experience of the one being made a disciple should not be divided between church-life and work-life (2 Corinthians 5:20). Invariably, intentional discipleship help to raise new generation of kingdom believers and world-changers (2 Timothy 1:5)

HOW TO DISCIPLE OTHERS

Jesus accomplished the purpose of intentional discipleship in the life’s of the early believers, He recruited, reshaped, renewed and launched them out to take the gospel to the then known world. Therefore, intentional disciple making should involve the following :

1. Living an exemplary life (1 Corinthians 11:1, Titus 2:7, 1 Timothy 4:12).

2. Spiritual parenting (1 Timothy 1:2,6:20, Galatians 4:19)

3. Giving of instruction (Matthew 28:20, 1 Timothy 1:18-19)

4. Letting your disciples observe what you do( Luke 11:1) and committing them to do what you would have done (2 Timothy 2:2).

5. Giving allowance for mistakes and corrections (Matthew 16:22-24, 2 Timothy 4:2).

6. Giving room for progress report/ feedback (Luke 10:17)

7. Making recommendations for subsequent endeavors (Matthew 17:19-21) and being able to recommend such individual to others (Romans 16:1-2, Philippians 4:3).

CONCLUSION: You are not successful until your successor has succeeded. Intentional discipleship does not just prepare people for Heaven but make them relevant on earth. Therefore, make conscious effort to disciple others for Christ.

 RCCG Sunday School Student's Manual

Lesson Six 6

Sunday 7th October 2018

Topic: Be Holy

Memory Verse: "But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversion;” - 1 Peter 1:15

Bible Passage: Psalm 15:1-5

15:1 A Psalm of David. LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill?

15:2 He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart;

15:3  He [who] does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend;

15:4  In whose eyes a vile person is despised, But he honors those who fear the LORD; He [who] swears to his own hurt and does not change;

15:5  He [who] does not put out his money at usury, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these [things] shall never be moved.

INTRODUCTION:
The journey to holiness begins with a total submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit. God is holy and cannot condone sin (Isaiah 59:2) because everything about Him is holy (1Peter 1:16). Hence, believers are commanded to live holy in order to be like God (Matthew 5:48). To fulfil this mandate, believers must understand the reasons for holy living and the benefits that accompany it.

LESSON OUTLINES
1. Why believers must be holy
2. Benefits of holiness

WHY BELIEVERS MUST BE HOLY
Our God is a holy God and He commands every believer to be perfect in His sight (Leviticus 20:26; Genesis 17:1; Ephesians 1:4). God desires to use believers as His chosen vessels to reach out to the numerous sinners out there, hence, believers must be holy (2Timothy 2:21). Holiness is necessary for a believer to do exploits and do greater works (John 14:12). Sinners cannot fellowship with a holy God (1John 1:3-7). The believer must be holy in order to be able to see God on the last day (Hebrews 12:14).

BENEFITS OF HOLINESS
A holy believer receives classified information from God (Genesis 18:17; Amos 3:7; Psalm 25:14). God builds a wall of protection around such a believer (Proverbs 18:10). He will also have peace with his enemies (Proverbs 16:7). He will enjoy divine blessings and long life (Deuteronomy 28:1-13; Proverbs 3:1-2; 4:10). Living holy enables every believer to enjoy God’s presence and to live forever with God in eternity (Psalm 24:3-5).
Other benefits include answered prayers (Luke 1:13; Psalm 34:15,17), secure future (Isaiah 3:10; Jeremiah 29:11), divine health (Exodus 15:26), supernatural prosperity (Psalm 92:12), victory (Deuteronomy 28:7), promotion and supernatural anointing (Hebrews 1:9).

CONCLUSION
Living holy must be the yearning of every true believer (Matthew 5:6). Always strive to live holy.

QUESTIONS
1. Why should believer be holy?

Thank You Father What a mighty God we serve What a mighty God we serve What a mighty God we serve What a mighty God we serve Angels bow before Him Heaven and earth adore Him What a mighty God we serve What a mighty God we serve Angels bow before Him Heaven and earth adore Him What a mighty God we serve What a mighty God we serve Ancient of days we worship you, the father of the fatherless we adore you, the unchangeable changer, glory be to your holy name. Let those born in October shout Halleluyah. Father, this is the month of double grace, let them enjoy double grace in Jesus' name. Please draw them closer in Jesus' name. The theme for the Holy Ghost Service for November is "MY SUN SHALL RISE AGAIN" The theme for the Holy Ghost Congress remains "GLORY AHEAD” Date: December 3-8, 2018. Back in the days, our prayers were to be used by God, but now people are now looking for how to simply use God. The first bed I slept on in the camp ground was made by me; you can imagine what kind of bed it was. Pythons and wild animals were my neighbors, but who cares, as long as I was used by God hands. Nobody can kill me, I will die when the time comes, why? My life is hid in Jesus Christ. If you're not willing to be a part of the Lord's army, He will raise a replacement Bible Text: Exodus 14:1-28 Nobody can stop you from moving forward because the Wind of God will blow on your behalf, as long as you are doing God's will. Indomitable means nobody can keep you from rising Genesis 37, 40 & 41. To be indomitable means nobody can keep you in prison Revelations 3:7 To be indomitable means you cannot be killed because your life is hid in Christ Colossians 3:3 The only fellow who should be afraid of death is one who has not given his life to Christ because his life is not hidden in Christ. Father, Please save their souls, have mercy on them, give them a new beginning, let them serve You till the end in Jesus' name No one can pay for the salvation that God blessed man with. The least we can do is to respond to God by using every means possible to reach out people for Jesus. Prayers Point For Tonight 1. Father, lengthen my life because I want to serve You 2. Father, fill me to overflowing with the Holy Spirit that my words will be fire that will win several souls for You. 3. Father, set me on fire for You. 4. Father, let Your wind blow in my favor, family and Church so that we can march for You and nobody can stoppable us The wind of the Holy Spirit will blow in your favor. The wind of the Holy Spirit will blow away every obstacle in your way in Jesus' name. Shalom!
