Rhema in Due Season (RiDs) - Thursday 10th Jan 2013

Topic: Rods of green Poplar.

Traditionally, rods are used by shepherds even in Bible days to lead the flocks. It is as it were an ordinary stick in the hands of the shepherds but can direct herds of cattle when wielded by an experienced shepherd. Give it to a novice, and the result is calamity.

The subject of Rods in the Bible fascinated me recently and I decided to study it further. I will like to share some insights with you.

Exo 4: 2, 17 'And the Lord said unto him (Moses) what is that in thine hand? And he said, a Rod...And thou shall take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shall do signs.

Gen 30: 37 - 42 'And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chestnut tree; and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods. And he set the rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink. And the flocks conceived before the rods, and BROUGHT FORTH cattle with ringstraked, speckled, and spotted. And Jacob did separate the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward the ringstraked, and all the brown in the flock of Laban; and he put his own flocks by themselves, and put them not unto Laban's cattle. And it came to pass whensoever the stronger cattle did conceive, that Jacob laid the rods before the eyes of the cattle in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods. But when the cattle were feeble, he put them not in; so the feebler were Laban's and the stronger Jacob's.

Wow!!!. Not sure you are seeing what I am seeing. I thought it was just an ordinary rod to direct the herds. Our God is the scientist of scientists. With just the rod, the destiny of Jacob was determined. All his years of exploitation and servitude were over. Jacob became prosperous not with something outside his purview but with the same weapon he has been accustomed to for several years as a shepherd.

What you see determines what you conceive and what you conceive determines what you bring forth. The stronger animals looking at the poplar trees with strakes brought forth speckled animals. Where did Jacob got this revelation?

Please read Gen 31; 10 - 13 and see the wonders of our God. Also, the rod of Moses was ordinary until God breathe upon it.

Beloved, what is in the hand this season?

In Exodus 15: 22 - 27. The Marah challenge was reversed by the visions of God. God pointed Moses to a tree that healed the waters.

The widow of one of the sons of the prophet in 2 Kings 4; 1 - 7 thought she had nothing until God opened her eyes.

I am persuaded that your situation is not beyond God. There is a rod at your disposal for you to perform signs and wonders. All that is needed is to locate it.

In this year of signs and wonders, discover your RODs, and begin to perform exploits. Walk in your high places and excel.

Shalom and Blessings!!!
