Beloved,
Psalm 110: 3a - Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy Power...
I have had a strong impression in my spirit since yesterday afternoon to dwell a little bit longer on the scripture above. I'll therefore plead with you to pay attention to the Holy Spirit as we partake in this holy conversation together. This morning, we would like to examine the Believer's authority.
Luke 10: 19 - Behold I give unto you power (authority) to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power (physical, and mental and ability) of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Emphasis Amplified version)
Matt 16: 19a - And I will give unto thee the keys of the Kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shall bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven...
In Acts 1: 8a - But you shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you...
Acts 2: 4 - And they were filled with the Holy Ghost; and began to speak with other tongues.
We have just read from scriptures how the Lord promised and the fulfilment of the promise to the disciples. The same power, authority and empowerment available to the disciples is available to you today.
In modern day technology, with a remote control, you can start a car engine; you can detonate a bomb, fire a missile and you are even sure it will hit its target because its a programmed missile.
If you have no problem about a remote control doing all of the above and even more, I wonder sometimes why we do have a problem with exercising our God given power.
Let's meditate on these thoughts together.
1. We are still in the dispensation of the Holy Spirit and as a believer you have every thing it takes to experience and manifest the same power and wisdom of Jesus.
2. The Believer's authority speaks of ability to replicate the works of Christ and even more. Hear what Jesus said concerning you (the believer). John 14; 12 - Verily verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do (the powers I (Jesus) manifested he also will manifest) and greater works than these because I go unto the Father (emphasis mine).
3. Your size, or your complexion has nothing to do with your ability to exercise the authority just as the size of the remote has no semblance to the size of the object its controlling. All that you need is a remote in your hand. Good news is that this remote is permanently with you.
4. Just as you expect the remote to work at all times, the authority, power and wisdom of God is available to you at all times. Remember, Jesus Name shall never loose its power.
5. The believer's power is at rest until you decide to activate and use it. Every object remains at a state until a higher power comes into contact with it. Do you know that the higher power is already with you and in you?
As we confront today and its challenges, begin to see yourself as the Lord sees you.
You are not an ordinary being.
You carry in you the nature of the most High God - remember you are his image and likeness.
You are able to speak authoritatively over all forms of spiritual manoeuvres of the enemy.
You can choose not to be taken for a ride by the devil again. Remember, a bully will continue to bully until a stronger one shows up.
Well, the stronger one is already with you. You have been bullied, manipulated and cheated thus far because you refused to take a stand and demand what is yours.
I counsel you this morning to draw from the fountain of life and power and begin to silence all the operations of the bully who has come to steal, to kill and destroy.
