Rhema in Due Season (RiDs) - Tuesday 20th Dec 2012

We all understand what Faith is! Yes we know that Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. We can easily as Sunday school teachers and cell Leaders encourage the brethen in the area of faith. However, how do we apply this knowledge to our personal situations? Isn't our story when it comes to 'practicalising' faith a case of 'physical heal thyself? This is the subject of our devotion this morning.

Let me share some testimonies of faith at work.

1. I know of a young man that no member of his family (dead or alive) had ever been comfortable financially. But from his teenage years and in the midst of abject, poverty, he was always declaring to all that care to know 'I will be rich, I will be comfortable and will build my house where the big men in society are staying'. Today, God has empowered him and those things and more have come to pass.

2. I know the testimony of a General Overseer of a Ministry based in Lagos who worked as an houseboy for some years before he could complete his secondary school education. Today, he's a fulfilled graduate of Computer Science and heads a thriving Ministry in Lagos.

3. There was a particular lady that was consistently under attack in the area of fruitfulness, previous pregnancies either came down before term or resulted in still births. By faith in the word of God and intercessions, she has become the joyful mother of children and the power of the enemy eating up her seeds has been totally terminated.

4. A Pastor friend was involved in a ghastly deadly accident in which everyone passing the car didn't even bother to stop because the car was a complete wreckage. Yet, in that solitary and dark hours, his utterances intermittently were 'I shall not die, Jesus'. Today, he is alive and well and still in Ministry for Jesus.

These are just a few testimonies of Faith @ work. I'm certain you have yours and know others with wonderful testimonies. The question today therefore is 'what has suddenly happen to Faith in the christendom? Why have we become instant in our mentality and the virtue of waiting patiently in faith waning as if God is no longer God?

2 Pet 1; 5 - 8 'But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self control, to self control perseverance (patience), to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ'

if these things are yours and abound... How can these things be yours? How do these things develop to the level of abiding in us? These are more will be the subject of our devotions in some days to come.

Suffice to say beloved, that God is still on the throne. He is still faithful. He is still watching over His words to perform. He is still able to rearrange events and activities, breaks protocol to settle your matter. There's a type of aggressive faith that God is waiting for. Its a compelling faith that He cannot ignore. It is the faith that holds God by His Word. It is the faith that moves mountain.

I trust God to restore us to these levels and more in this Due Season and beyond.

Blessings, dear Saints of God.
