Rhema in Due Season (RiDs) - Monday 31st Dec 2012

Topic: Emmanuel, God with Us and for Us.
Beloved, welcome to the last few hours of Y2012. If we are given the opportunity to describe the outgoing year in 2 or 3 sentences - I'm sure there will be wide and divergent views and summaries.
In Hab 3: 17 – 19, the scriptures read thus
'Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines,
Though the labour of the olive may fail
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength.
He will make my feet like deer's feet.
He will make me walk on my high hills.

Before looking ahead into Y2013, for a moment, I will like to thank God for Y2012. I'm fully persuaded that our God is worthy to be praised for His mercies throughout the outgoing year - 2012. Though the year is fast fading away like the stars of the morning but we cannot forget in a hurry that this is one memorable year full of the faithfulness of our God.
As we count our blessings, we have every reason to give thanks to the Almighty God - corporately and as individuals; as homes and families; for visible and invisible blessings; for prayers answered and for His mighty power and wisdom in things we do not understand; for voluntary and involuntary actions; for life and sustenance.
The words of King David in Psalm 37: 25 "I have been young and now old, I have not seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread' truly found full expression in your life and household all through this faithful year. We need to cast back our mind at the story and challenges of David – it will make us appreciate that in all things, we also have learnt to depend upon His words.
Year 2012 in review
I may not know in specific details what the year has been to you. However, I can identify with the words of Peter in John 6: 68 - 69 'But Simeon Peter answered Him (Jesus), "Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also we have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God".
Beloved, you are reading this blog because the supreme being has kept you alive. You know that there is a higher power that ruleth in the affairs of men; a higher power that controls the times and the seasons. It is this higher power – the God of the Heaven and Earth we have come to at this particular period of our life. We owe Him all thanksgiving and appreciation for bringing us this far, knowing fully well that we will see the new year by His mighty power.
Looking ahead to Y2013
Jos 3: 4c says 'for you have not passed this way before'. God is reminding us just like He instructed Joshua at the crossing of Jordan. Is there any reader of this blog who can tell in specific terms how the new year will pan out? If mortal men have the powers to order the events and activities in any given year, we would not have had some of the sad times of the outgoing year. We would not have with us in this nation, families currently reflecting on what would have been if some of the negative and sad events of 2012 did not occur. As it were, we are not God and we will do well to trust Him for guidance and protection in 2013.
Accordingly, our confidence as we look ahead into Y2013 is that 'Our God has promised – He will never leave us nor forsake us (Heb 13:5). I implore you to trust Him absolutely - the Emmanuel. In Isa 46: 10 – the one who declares the end from the beginning is saying to you as you trust me in Y2013, I will ensure my counsel for you stands, and fulfills all my plans for you.
This is your opportunity for a new and fresh beginning. Wouldn't you take this golden moment to start afresh with God?
Draw nearer to the God. He is indeed the Emmanuel. A very present help in the time of trouble and at all times; walk closely with Him, fellowship and follow His leading and all shall be well in Jesus Name, Amen.
I welcome you by faith into Y2013 - your Year of signs and wonders, Year of great exploits and Year of restoration and enforcement of God's divine agenda over you and your household. It shall be a glorious year filled with the Lord's overflowing presence and power in Jesus mighty Name. Amen.
