Rhema in Due Season (RiDs) - Wednesday 26th Dec 2012.

Topic: The Best gift on Boxing Day.

Christmas is such a wonderful time with wonderful feelings of togetherness, love and sharing. Its about the best known family time in any given season within a year and I can't but appreciate God the more for allowing Jesus to come in such a unique and wonderful way to the world.
Let's think about these together.
The Boxing day is a time of un wrapping the boxes of gifts that have been received during the Christmas celebration. Some have said its also a time to give and receive/exchange gifts. For me its a time to communicate our thoughtfulness towards each other and one another.
We often try not to lay emphasis on the value of the gift but the intention/gesture. However, let's look at the scripture to learn one or two things the spirit is sharing with the body of Christ.

If Christmas is about giving and receiving - then God certainly have you permanently on His mind. Oh how do we explain the gift of Christ to mankind @ Christmas.
John 3: 16 'for God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son that whosoever will believe in him shall not die but have everlasting life. When you consider the scripture deeply especially in the light of the reason for his coming - God gave us Jesus as an ultimate sacrifice for our redemption. What better gift can you have from someone else?
Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us. That through Jesus' coming, we have become the sons/daughters of God and joint heirs with Jesus - the righteous and unblemished one. 1 John 3: 1, Rom 8: 16 - 17.
Yet, when the King of kings sent Jesus unto the earth, God arranged for wise men to appreciate and herald his coming with very precious gifts. Matt 2: 10 - 11. The import, the message is as I (God) gave the very best, what I expect from mankind toward my son is nothing but the very best. That was why he looked for wise men. The best in the land as a symbol of what is befitting and expected of all mankind.
Further study of scriptures shows that a giver of gifts has many friends. Prov 18:6, 19:6. Thus by extension, someone that gives very precious gifts would be celebrated and have many more friends than the others. Are you a friend of God dear reader?
From the foregoing therefore, understanding that God has willingly given unto us Jesus Christ, what is your response to God at this time? I often wondered and pondered on what to give back to God that will be commensurate to God's gift to US, to mankind.
God didn't even stop at that. Read with me Romans 8: 32 'He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things.
Beloved, there's nothing that you desire in God that you can't and won't have. Why - Jesus is the ACCESS to all things...FANTASTIC indeed. You have access to all things through Jesus. We have access to life through Jesus. We have access to heaven through Jesus. Every provision is available because of the gift of God to the world - JESUS CHRIST. Forgiveness is perfected and complete through JESUS. Grace becomes TANGIBLE because of Jesus.
Beloved, what will therefore be your response to this wonderful God and wonderful GIFT?
The best gift we can give back unto God are three fold.
1. Offer unto God thorough and complete worship and appreciation. We can't stop worshipping God at this season. The whole duty of man is to worship. 1 Pet 2: 9
2. Along with 1 above, give God the whole of your being. Total and completely surrender your life and all that you are and ever going to be to Him. God gave Jesus that He may have in return many more joint heirs. Be a joint heir indeed with Jesus.
3. Walk after His footsteps always. Let your prayer be 'Order my steps in thy word and do not allow any iniquity to have dominion on me'
Beloved, Happy Boxing Day but do all that is within you to delight the Lord, thereby having ACCESS to all things.
Shalom and Blessings!!!
