Rhema In Due Season - Wednesday 31st Oct 2012

Beloved,

Psalm 118: 24 'This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

By way of introduction...the above is the lyrics of some old time SU song. So, there's a possibility for you to discard this write up as 'I have seen or heard that before'. I just want to plead with you to please pay attention to the Lord as you meditatively muse over the devotion.

I bless the Name of the Lord for granting us, you and yours the opportunity, grace, & power to see today. I'm sure you know many would have loved to see today just like you. They ain't just privileged as you are. Some even had better and loftier plans than yours - it's however not in their might to execute because as we know - many are the plans in the heart of a man but only the Counsel of the Lord - it shall stand.

What special about today?

Apart from the fact that it's the last day of October 2012 - the month of double grace, double portion, in which God opened unto you the double doors to access great and mighty promises (Isa 45: 1c) which shall no longer be shut.

Irrespective of the fact it is also the last day of the month of super victories over every counsel of the enemy against your soul - because in John 10:10 - we establish that God on your behalf actually sent Jesus to frustrate the plans, operations and intentions of the wicked. 'The thief (devil and its operatives) does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I (Jesus) have come that you may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly'. This particular verse is both a reminder and an assurance that it doesn't matter what the enemy is throwing or has thrown at you - your Lord and Saviour has the final say!!! He's got the final throw of the dice and He's surely got your back and won't let you fail. Jesus got the Joker dear faithful friend and child of God.

When you also think about the fact that it has been God's faithfulness that has seen you thus far to this day. Think about the several families in Nigeria battling and counting their losses from the various disasters that has ravaged our land (floods in Nigeria, Boko Haram senseless destructions of lives and properties) or consider and recall the floods/troubles around the world - America has flood now, some mighty economies in the world are failing like pack of cards. These facts and many more should make us to appreciate the faithfulness of our God.

The special thing about today is despite whatever yesterday, last month, or last year has been - this is the day that God has set before you - rejoicing and gladness. I hear you say God didn't say that in the scripture - pls read it again. Ps 118: 24. God in His agenda has packaged today for you as a day to rejoice. A day of gladness. I don't care if you have wept all through the year - today is a Day of gladness and rejoicing. The purpose of God making today is to make you glad. Acts 10; 38 'How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about (today) doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him'.

This Day - I see Jesus walking in your courtyard, around your towns and villages - right now, He is just walking among your brethen and households. His eyes has just located you and as I behold Him - I see Jesus smiling on you today. He's brought you goodness. He's turned whatever caused you sorrow yesterday to Joy. I see Him pointing you in the direction to go. I hear his sweet gentle voice instructing you on the next agenda. Oh, I see the light all around Him dispelling all form of darkness and confusion. The reason why you are seeing today is laughter and peace.

Dear saint of God, don't allow the thief to throw or sell you his counterfeit today. While Jesus is offering you all that is good; the thief has all that is negative. Despite God's provision for today, some will still discard God's provision and go after the devil's delicacy (good on the outside in packaging but full of bitterness). I reject this on your behalf.

I thank God for your life cos you have a strong will and you have the power to choose. Along with you. I choose to be grateful. I choose to be positive. I choose to enjoy the goodness of the Lord today. I choose to excel. I choose to appreciate Him. I choose to submit to Him and Him alone. I choose to praise Him for the grace to see the end of another month and I'm very hopeful of better days, weeks, months and years ahead.

Beloved, God is ever faithful. He watches over His words to fulfil them. My prayer is that Psalm 118.24 will find full expression in your life and in all you do today.

Blessings in Jesus mighty Name, Amen.
